3. This is not the best shooting team that Izzo has coached

So many times this season, Tom Izzo has stated that this may be the best shooting team he has ever coached. Well, per a numbers standpoint, this team is not even close to being the best shooting team.

Based on percentages this team is ranked 16th in the past 20 season in overall field goal percentage, fourth in free throw percentage, and it is tied for sixth in 3-point percentage. I know the season is not over for this team and they could make a push to get into the top five but they will need to start shooting lights out.

This team has the potential to be the best shooting team Izzo has coached. They have the players to do so. They just do not adapt that into games. Joey Hauser supposedly is one of the best — if not the best — shooters on the team this year but in games, he is fourth on the team for players who have taken over 90 shots.

Tyson Walker can be a scorer we have seen it when he played at Northeastern but he looks so timid to play his game and to shoot the ball. Malik Hall is day to day at best when he is on he makes it when he does not shot well he turns the ball over and Izzo does not continue to go to him making him less confident for the rest of the game.

This team has got to step into the role of best shooting team Izzo has if they are going ot make a run for the regular season champs and tournament champs. This team should be putting up 70-plus points a game and they have struggled on numerous occasions to put up 50 points a game.
