Michigan State Basketball: 3 bold predictions for bounce-back game vs. Indiana
1. MSU finally plays complete game, avoids three-game slump
In seven seasons since 2009-10, Michigan State has suffered a three-game losing streak. The Spartans are in danger of falling victim to that dreaded midwinter skid again, but Indiana would be the perfect slump-buster on Saturday.
The Hoosiers are slumping themselves, losing two straight to Illinois and Northwestern and they actually lost by 18 to Michigan at home a few weeks ago. But they’re still 16-7 and a tough out. This won’t be a cakewalk, by any means, but when Michigan State is playing to its potential, this is a game that it wins with ease.
What version of the Spartans will we see on Saturday, though? We’ve seen the worst version for a few weeks now and it’s time to break out of that slump with a complete game.
No more falling behind early like the Spartans have against Rutgers, Wisconsin, and Illinois over the past five games. The Spartans will get off to a solid start and carry a lead into halftime.
Instead of choking it away in the second half, they’ll extend it and win in impressive fashion over a solid Indiana team. The three-game skid will be handed to Indiana.
