2. Point guard play will be a strength

For the past couple of games, the Spartans have had one major issue: the point guard position.

Tyson Walker has seemed to regress over the past few weeks after taking some steps in the right direction prior and AJ Hoggard has been wildly inconsistent. Both gave been turnover machines which drives Tom Izzo — and Spartan fans — nuts.

The lazy turnovers, poor decisions, picking up the dribble with no open man to pass to (Tyson, I’m looking at you), and just pushing the pace for no reason (AJ, I’m looking at you) has to stop.

And it will on Saturday afternoon.

The strength of the Spartans against Indiana will be point guard play which is going to surprise some people. Both Hoggard and Walker will play well and combine for 12 assists and three turnovers while also both approaching double digits in the scoring column.

If this trend continues, Michigan State might just push for that Big Ten title after all.
