2. AJ Hoggard is slowly turning into a star

Right before our very eyes, Michigan State has a star developing at the point guard position. AJ Hoggard has turned his season around after a turnover-filled first couple of months to become one of the most sure-handed players on the team.

Tyson Walker looked like the better point guard for a while, but Hoggard is really pushing for that PG1 spot every game. He just had his best game of the season against the Wolverines.

While Walker did have seven points and an assist, he turned the ball over three times and just wasn’t passing well. He made some sloppy mistakes and Tom Izzo went with the hot hand at point as Hoggard was just cruising all game long.

In fact, Hoggard finished the game with 11 points, 10 assists, and just one turnover off the bench. That’s the type of line that will get him some major minutes down the stretch and it’s just what Michigan State needs.

If Walker and Hoggard can both play quality minutes at the point like this every game, Michigan State will be tough to beat.
