Michigan State basketball has its second meeting with the Golden Gophers on Wednesday night. What are we going to see in this contest?

Michigan State basketball is back in action on Wednesday night after their first match against the in-state rival Michigan was postponed. The Spartans take on the Minnesota Golden Gophers who will be looking for revenge against the Spartans.

The Spartans have been looking impressive all season long and are on top of the Big Ten. They will look to continue this winning streak against a pesky and tough Minnesota team. The Golden Gophers are led by Jamison Battle and Payton WIllis.

The Spartans will try their best to shut those two stars down and cruise to another victory in Big Ten play. What will we see in this contest?

3. Stars will be shut down

Like mentioned earlier Minnesota is led by two stars in Jamison Battle and Payton Willis. They are averaging 18 points and 15 points, respectively. They are also both leading the team in minutes per game so they have the leadership of this team as well.

None of this will matter. The Spartans defense will not let either of these two players get in rhythm causing them to not score in double digit figures. The Spartans defending them will probably be Bingham on Battle and Christie on Willis and they’ll shut them down completely.

Minnesota will have to rely on their role players to keep them in this game because of the swarming defense on Willis and Battle and it will not fare well for the Golden Gophers.
