2. Michigan State wins 3-of-4 on the road

Michigan State has some tough road games in the month of January, including the first one on Sunday afternoon (Jan. 2) against a surprising Northwestern team.

After that, Michigan State will travel to Ann Arbor to face a Michigan team that has all the talent but has struggled to play as a team. They could catch fire at any moment, though. They will then travel to Wisconsin on Jan. 21 and then Illinois on Jan. 25. Those are some tough road games to start conference play, but the Spartans already won at Minnesota, so they’re capable.

The Spartans have looked like a team that can beat anyone and if they play to their full potential, there’s no reason they can’t win all of those road games.

But I’m going to say the Spartans win three out of four.

I think Michigan State beats Northwestern and Michigan on the road — even though I could see the Spartans losing in Ann Arbor — before traveling to Madison on Jan. 21. Michigan State will beat the Badgers before losing at Illinois to end the month with a 3-1 road record.

If you can win on the road in the Big Ten, you can win anywhere.
