3. Max Christie earns three more Freshman of the Week honors

Max Christie has already won Big Ten Freshman of the Week three times already through two months this season but I think he’s going to match that total in the month of January alone.

Christie has three Big Ten Freshman of the Week honors in his pocket and he’s going to double that through four weeks in January. That wouldn’t be all that surprising considering he hasn’t even come close to reaching his full potential and when he’s been named the freshman of the week, he’s actually struggled a bit, so imagine what happens when he plays well.

After returning from a COVID-19 absence against High Point, I think we’re going to see him break out to start Big Ten play. He is also coming off his best game of the season against Oakland, scoring 17 points on 6-for-8 shooting.

Christie is going to have a big month, averaging over 10 points per game and shooting close to 50 percent from the floor and 40 percent from deep.

Watch out, Big Ten, Christie is gaining confidence.
