1. Javon Ringer

Hiring Javon Ringer would be like when Michigan hired Mike Hart before the 2021 season; it would be an absolute home run.

Adding a former player who was beloved during his time in East Lansing would be huge, especially since he’s spent some time at Michigan State as a recruiting intern for Mark Dantonio back in 2016. He has experience at the collegiate level as a recruiter and that could help Mel Tucker tremendously.

Not only is Ringer an excellent former running back for the Spartans who seriously contended for a Heisman Trophy, but he’s a young former recruiting intern who could fill William Peagler’s role perfectly. He would have a wealth of knowledge as a running backs coach that maybe even Peagler doesn’t possess.

Tucker wants guys who will recruit around the clock and he’s been targeting a younger staff which is a smart way to go. Ringer is well-liked, can recruit, and is a Spartan Dawg. Can’t ask for much more than that.

Ringer would be my No. 1 option if I’m Tucker.
