The third recruit in a row to start this list who was recently committed elsewhere, Caleb Coley decommitted from Vanderbilt on Nov. 1, ending a four-month-long verbal pledge.

Michigan State swooped in and made an impression on him right away and the Spartans are now the projected leader to land him. Will he sign on Wednesday? I’d be surprised if he didn’t and I’d also be shocked if he didn’t pick the Spartans. He received an influx of crystal balls on 247Sports to Michigan State right after his decommitment.

Coley took an official visit to Michigan State all the way back in June and then committed to Vanderbilt a month later, but maybe his offer wasn’t committable for the Spartans at the time. The staff may have waited to see his senior film to make a stronger push.

It looks like that has paid off for both sides.

Coley would immediately help upgrade the Spartans’ lackluster secondary. He’s a three-star, ranked the No. 405 overall recruit and 41st cornerback in the class.

Could he be Michigan State’s next lockdown cornerback who helps revive the secondary?
