There has to be a good feeling from the staff here. Zion Young is fresh off a visit and the Spartans hold 100 percent of the crystal ball predictions on 247Sports.

While Young took a visit to Michigan State on Dec. 4, he did get one more trip in to Missouri last weekend which may make things a little tougher for the Spartans. Will he stick with the original favorite or go with Missouri? We’ll see on Wednesday, but the staff has to feel like this one is theirs to lose.

The former West Virginia commit isn’t the highest-rated prospect the Spartans are after, but he’s going to have a bright future because of his size, raw tools, and motor.

Young is ranked the No. 1,290 player and No. 155 defensive lineman in the class, according to the composite. He’s not going to be an immediate contributor, but he’ll be a solid player down the line.
