This is a relatively new name on the radar for most Michigan State football fans and that’s because he was a surprise visitor this past weekend.

Damari Alston is a four-star running back who has been committed to Auburn since July and his official visit to Michigan State was his only listed official since verbally pledging to the Tigers. This is good news because it shows mutual interest and this late run is only going to help the Spartans’ chances. It’s always good to get the last visit before signing day.

Michigan State is looking to add a running back to the class and Alston might be the guy along with underrated Texas three-star Andrew Paul who has some incredible highlights. Alston might be the Plan A target at running back and Mel Tucker is pushing hard for him.

Alston is ranked the No. 313 overall prospect and 29th-best running back in the class, per the composite. And he’s from the state of Georgia so Tucker wasn’t wrong when he said that getting the Peach Bowl is only going to help recruiting there.
