2. Confidence is growing in Walker, Hauser

Michigan State has two players who have their confidence growing. These two players would be Tyson Walker and Joey Hauser. They both were aggressive and looked for their shots and it paid off for both of them. You could tell they had confidence in this game and it changes the way they play and their whole team plays.

Tyson Walker had the first six points of the game and driving and one and the nice 3-point jumper. Teammates and coaches have hounded him to be more aggressive and that is exactly what he did in this one. He was always driving and kicking to the open player or when he was given enough space he would pull up for the jumper.

Walker finished the game with a season-high 15 points. He shot 5-for-7 from the floor while going 2-for-2 from deep and 3-for-3 from the line. The Spartans will be a dangerous team if Walker continues to grow in confidence and remain aggressive.

Hauser also started to get his confidence back in this game. He let the game come to him and didn’t think too much. He was able to hit two deep shots in a row which is the first time he hit multiple threes since the UConn game. His two shots were when he was trailing and someone made a nice pass to him. He had his feet set and was able to just pull up in transition.

If they can do more of this in the next few games, Hauser’s confidence will continue to grow. If that happens, we might just actually see the player that shoots lights out in practice and the one that we have all been waiting for the past two seasons.
