2. Fiesta Bowl (vs. Oklahoma State)

The Fiesta Bowl has to be the most desirable of the potential bowl destinations for Michigan State and that’s where most of the projections have the Spartans going.

In the second-best scenario for Michigan State, it would head to the Fiesta Bowl to face an Oklahoma State team with a strong defense and a so-so offense. The Cowboys have the Big 12’s best defense but the offense, led by Spencer Sanders, is not exactly elite. The Spartans might match up well with this offense.

Plus, this is a matchup that has never happened before so it’d be cool to finally see a Michigan State and Oklahoma State battle. It’s always fun to watch first-ever matchups between Power Five teams that have been consistently solid since the turn of the century.

Michigan State has Jerry Palm of CBS projecting it in the Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma State which is a good indication that this is where it’s leaning, but there’s still another possibility that could be the most intriguing.

I think Michigan State’s offense could play well against Oklahoma State and the defense would have a whole month to prepare for an average offense. I like this matchup.
