The phrase “Tuck Comin'” is relevant on the field as well as in the recruiting landscape. What it means is that Michigan State football Mel Tucker is coming for the nation’s elite teams (on the field) and players (via recruiting, transfer portal).

After finishing the 2021 regular season 10-2, Tucker is gearing up for a New Year’s Six bowl which is absolutely going to aid recruiting efforts.

The momentum generated from this 10-win season is being felt by the program already as there are rumors of potential flips in the 2022 recruiting class. Tucker might just be on the verge of ending the 2022 class in perfect fashion.

Which 2022 recruits could Tucker flip before National Signing Day?

OK, so technically this one isn’t a “flip” but it might as well be considered one because Caleb Coley decommitted from Vanderbilt and immediately started getting crystal ball-ed to Michigan State on 247Sports.

Cornerback is going to be one of the top needs for Michigan State this offseason, so landing one of the top recruits at the position on the market would be a huge win.

Let’s say the Spartans bring back Ronald Williams (who has been solid), Marqui Lowery, and Charles Brantley is back healthy next season, the addition of Coley would give them some much-needed depth. I fully expect Michigan State to hit the portal once again looking for a cornerback, but Coley would be a heck of an addition and would undoubtedly play early.

Coley is ranked the No. 480 overall recruit and 47th-best cornerback in the 2022 class, according to the composite. Michigan State is the top contender here, along with Clemson.
