1. The future is bright under Mel Tucker

Michigan State fans have to feel good about the future of this program under Mel Tucker.

The Spartans were missing some key players against a talented Penn State team and they still found a way to win. They relied on their leaders and a lot of those guys who stepped up will be back next season.

In fact, Payton Thorne had a great game and he’ll be the starting quarterback next year, Jayden Reed has entertained the possibility of returning, Cal Haladay will be back, Darius Snow is going to be a defensive leader next year, and there were other solid pieces who stepped up against the Nittany Lions who could have a big future in East Lansing.

I’m talking about guys like Maliq Carr, Montorie Foster, and Elijah Collins had solid games and stepped up when Michigan State needed them to. They will be back next season to help lead this team to another Big Ten title-contending season.

With the key pieces coming back and the solid recruiting class coming in (along with some portal magic again), the future is incredibly bright under Tucker.

Like Tucker said after the game, his goal is to bring a national championship to East Lansing. And I don’t think that’s a wild goal anymore.
