1. Payton Thorne gets his revenge, beats Penn State

Payton Thorne had his coming-out party against Penn State last season, throwing for over 300 yards with three touchdowns — most of the production came in the first half. The Spartans, unfortunately, fell apart late in Happy Valley, but Thorne wasn’t scared away by the Nittany Lions and that led to a career performance.

Michigan State lost the game 39-24 after building an early lead, and I think that Thorne gained some confidence from the performance.

Getting another shot at the Nittany Lions this season, Michigan State has a lot more on the line and Thorne is hoping to end the season on a high note. He’s going to throw for over 200 yards and a touchdown or two while staying clean for a second straight game with no interceptions.

Thorne has probably had this game circled on his calendar for the past year because he probably felt like he played well enough to lead Michigan State to a win and now that he has a chance to beat the Nittany Lions to send the Spartans to a New Year’s Six bowl, he’s going to have a big game.

Thorne gets his revenge with a solid performance and Michigan State wins a tight one.
