1. Michigan State holds Loyola under 65 points

Remember when I said Loyola has been lightly tested so far this season so don’t put too much stock in the Ramblers averaging 90 points per game? They’ve played Coppin State, FGCU, Chicago State, and UIC en route to their 4-0 record and 91 points per game, so that’s probably why they haven’t had a tough time scoring the ball.

When good teams play mediocre teams, they usually put up some points. Take Michigan State playing Western Michigan, for example.

Loyola is coming off its lowest point total of the season, however, having scored 80 against UIC in a 17-point win last week, so I think that they’re human after all. Michigan State is going to hold them to an even lower total on Wednesday afternoon, keeping them under 65 points which will be quite the feat.

Michigan State has a more aggressive defense this year than it did last season and I think that’s going to help tremendously. The Spartans block shots, steal passes by clogging lanes, and force tough looks. That’s exactly why no team has scored over 60 against Michigan State since Kansas beat the Spartans in the Champions Classic.

I see Michigan State holding a really good offense to somewhere between 60-65 points and picking up a quality win.
