Michigan State basketball took the court against the Eastern Michigan Eagles on Saturday night and picked up another blowout win.

In the first half of the first half, the Spartans were letting the Eagles stay in the game. It wasn’t until the under-12 timeout that the Spartans started to slowly pull away from the Eagles.

There were some really good signs in this game and here are three quick thoughts.

3. Turnovers might start improving

Michigan State fans were happy to see that the Spartans only turned the ball over 10 times throughout this entire game. The entire game, I repeat. They only had five turnovers at halftime. That’s incredible for a team that has averaged 10 turnovers in first halves alone, and 16 per game.

The Spartans also did not really have those silly little turnovers like stepping out of bounds or traveling with the ball. There were a couple of errant passes but they recovered from them and had a good game.

If the Spartans can keep up this turnover momentum they will be a huge force to be reckoned with in the Big Ten. They will be able to keep up with those powerhouse teams like Purdue and Michigan.

It was nice to see the turnovers not be an issue with this team for once. Hopefully, they will see how much not turning the ball over helps this team strive and they learn from this game and stop turning the ball over.
