1. The turnovers will not be an issue

After these first three games of the season, turnovers are still a major issue for this team. They have had eight or more turnovers in the first half of each of the games. These Spartans are averaging a stifling 16 turnovers a game and that can be an issue.

The turnovers that are mostly committed are unforced ones like stepping on the line or traveling. Both are fundamental basketball and can easily be fixed.

Fixed it will be when they take on the Eagles at Breslin Center.

By halftime, the Spartans will only have five turnovers. They will finish the game with under 10. How will they do this, you might ask? Well, like I said a lot of the turnovers are silly turnovers that are adjusted easily. They won’t be stepping on the out-of-bounds line. They won’t commit traveling violations and will play a fundamental sound basketball game.

Sure they will still have errant passes and turnovers but that will be from the up-tempo style game they play. This will be the game that gives Spartans fans hope that the turnover issues will slowly fade away.

Bonus prediction: Steven Izzo scores first points as a Spartan

One extra prediction for this game is that Steven Izzo, son of coach Tom Izzo, will score his first points as a Spartan in this game.

At the end of games when the Spartans are winning, there is a outroar of “we want Steven” chants throughout the crowd. This crowd loves their coach and wants to see his son, who is a walk-on, score some points while he plays for his father, and against the Eagles, they will finally get to see this happen.

When it does, you can bet the Breslin Center will be the loudest it has been in a long time.
