Michigan State Basketball: 3 bold predictions vs. Eastern Michigan
By Nate Rhoades
Michigan State basketball proved that it wasn’t an underdog when it traveled to Hinkle Fieldhouse for its first true road game. Even though the turnovers were still an issue, we finally saw Max Christie coming alive, Tyson Walker feeling the game come to him, and Marcus Bingham having a huge defensive outing.
Now the Spartans will come back home to the Breslin Center to take on the Eagles of Eastern Michigan.
Here are three bold predictions for when the Spartans and Eagles collide.
3. Marcus Bingham is fired up
Marcus Bingham had a game against Butler. He arguably had the best defensive game of his career at Hinkle Fieldhouse. His production won’t stop there. He will come back fired up and ready to have another career outing against the Eagles.
Bingham will have a double-double by the 12-minute mark in the second half. Tyson Walker and AJ Hoggard will look to get him the ball early and often, with good reason, too.
In the first three games of the season, Bingham has shot the ball incredibly. He is 14-for-21 on the year which is a 67 percent clip. If he chooses not to take those deep shots in the first game against Kansas that percentage goes up to 77 percent.
Bingham has been a monster and will continue to be one.
With this double-double, though, he will also add to his block totals and rack up five more against the Eagles. Hinkle Fieldhouse lit a fire in Bingham and gave him the confidence he needed to keep this excellent play up.
