1. Go-to scorers are revealing themselves

Before the year, I was a little worried about Michigan State developing go-to scorers, but after three games, it’s pretty clear that Max Christie and Gabe Brown are those dudes.

While it’d be nice for someone like Tyson Walker or Joey Hauser to step up when it comes to scoring and creating for themselves, it’s nice to see that Christie and Brown are fully capable of shouldering the load.

Leading into this game on Wednesday night, Christie had been struggling, totaling just 15 points over the first two games. He scored 18 against Butler and shot 6-for-9 from the floor and 2-for-4 from deep. He looked like a completely different player and was much better defensively as well. He looked much more comfortable out there and scored in a variety of ways.

Brown, on the other hand, had no problem shooting the deep ball, making four threes, and really helping Michigan State pull away with his team-high 19 points. He needs to continue being aggressive if Michigan State wants to contend this year.

Right now, Michigan State has two clear go-to scorers and there are a few guys (Walker, Hauser, AJ Hoggard, Malik Hall, Julius Marble, Marcus Bingham Jr.) who could emerge.
