1. Michigan State scores 90

Michigan State scored 90 points just once last year and it came in a 109-91 win over Oakland. It was one of the most sloppy defensive performances of the Tom Izzo era, but luckily the offense was scoring at will.

The game before that 109-point outburst, the Spartans faced Western Michigan and scored just 79 in an 18-point win. The offense was still finding itself, in some ways, and I think that’s obviously the case in the second game of this season. But I believe this Spartan team could have a multitude of quality scorers and we’ll see them on display on Friday night.

Western Michigan won its first game against Hope College, giving up just 58 points, but Michigan State was able to account for 74 against a solid Kansas team. The Spartans are going to be a little tougher on the Broncos than Hope was.

For that reason, I think the offense is going to have a nice rebound game against the Broncos, scoring 90-plus points in the home opener and sending the students home with tacos, and then some.

Michigan State wins this by around 20-plus in a 90-point showing.
