1. Michigan State pulls off the upset

Michigan State is a healthy underdog heading into Tuesday night’s game and I wouldn’t be shocked to see everyone betting on the Jayhawks.

The Spartans are unranked to start the season and they’ve lost Aaron Henry, Rocket Watts, Josh Langford, Foster Loyer, and Thomas Kithier from last year’s team. Some of those were healthy breaks, but guys like Henry, Langford, and Watts could have provided important minutes this season and it’s not going to be easy replacing them.

Tom Izzo does bring back Gabe Brown, Marcus Bingham Jr., Malik Hall, and Joey Hauser while bringing in Tyson Walker from the transfer portal, a solid mix of role players, and an elite recruiting class. This will be enough to make some noise this season.

Not having Jalen Wilson is going to hurt Kansas, however. He is a leader and one of the top scorers and rebounders for the Jayhawks. Michigan State will take advantage.

The Spartans are going to keep things close all game and come up with some clutch plays down the stretch to upset the Jayhawks and quiet the critics.
