After coming off a massive win over Kansas, Michigan State will return home over the weekend to face Western Michigan. A Friday night battle in East Lansing will go the Spartans’ way and it’ll be a nice tune-up game before yet another tough battle just five days later.

I expect a big game from Gabe Brown and Marcus Bingham Jr. in this one as they take the leadership roles and lead the Spartans to a comfortable win over Western for a second straight year.

Final Score: Western Michigan 58, Michigan State 82 (2-0)

Butler is going to be a really tough team to beat, especially on the road, but I think Michigan State wins this one and makes a statement much like it did a couple of years ago at Seton Hall.

As we head into the season, Butler is expected to finish near the middle of the Big East, at best. The Bulldogs look like a decent enough team to pull off this “upset” but I think that the Spartans have more talent and depth and they’ll wear Butler down.

Michigan State will prove itself with a tough non-conference road win over the Bulldogs and climb in the rankings after this.

Final Score: Michigan State 72, Butler 69 (3-0)
