2. We saw a little of everything from Marcus Bingham Jr.

It was nice to see Marcus Bingham Jr. playing some big minutes and looking comfortable out on the floor. He’s the clear starting option at center and while he’s backed up by two capable guys in Julius Marble and Mady Sissoko, Tom Izzo is likely going to look at him to play 20-30 minutes regularly this season which is something he’s not used to.

Conditioning has been an issue for Bingham Jr. in the past but he looks good so far through two exhibition games and he’s adjusting to that role nicely as the starting center.

We saw a little of everything from Bingham Jr. on Thursday night and it was enough to really jump on the “breakout” bandwagon for the senior center if you weren’t already on it.

Bingham Jr. was fourth on the team in scoring with 10 points and he added seven rebounds and showed out on the defensive end with six blocks. It looks like he’s going to make a living blocking shots this season.

Oh, and he added a 3-pointer in the second half which was nice to see.

This was a positive step forward for Bingham Jr.
