Mel Tucker is that dude. Following a 6-0 start to his first full season as Michigan State football coach, Tucker is now facing a critical second half of the season which includes matchups with Penn State, Michigan, and Ohio State. It’s safe to say, things won’t be getting any easier for the Spartans.

Luckily, momentum is on Michigan State’s side heading into a big road game against Indiana — a team that beat the Spartans 24-0 last season.

After Indiana, Michigan State will get a much-needed bye. If the Spartans lose to the Hoosiers, it’ll be the perfect opportunity to regroup, watch some film, and learn from mistakes. If the Spartans beat Indiana, it’ll be a chance to focus heavily on the biggest game of the Tucker era. Michigan comes to town on Oct. 30 for a massive showdown.

The game against Michigan could be a top-10 battle and arguably the most important game in the series since 2015.

Michigan State will get Purdue and Maryland after the Michigan game before ending the season with Ohio State and Penn State. The road to a potential undefeated season won’t be easy, but Tucker’s confidence in this team is evident.

How will the Spartans fare in the second half of the year?
