Running Backs: A-

With Elijah Collins in street clothes yet again, only two running backs got to see the field and I’m still not sure what’s going on with Harold Joiner.

Kenneth Walker III stole the show yet again, rushing for 126 yards and three touchdowns on 5.3 yards per carry. He had all three of his touchdowns by halftime and he was fighting for extra yards all day. He didn’t have a ton of long runs, but he was just consistent and steady all night long. In fact, his long was 15 yards which shows that he was just racking up 5-6 yards each time.

Through five weeks, Walker III is still very much in the Heisman conversation. He looks like the best running back in the country and he leads the nation in rushing yards. He did what he could without great blocking in front of him.

Jordon Simmons got 10 carries behind Walker III, totaling just 34 yards. He’s not quite as exciting and shifty as Walker III, but he runs downhill and looks like a solid backup.
