1. The Jayden Reed-Payton Thorne connection is electric

Hey, did you know Jayden Reed and Payton Thorne were high school teammates?

OK, now that we’ve gotten that usual broadcast talking point out of the way, we can talk about just how great this connection between Reed and Thorne really is.

We can just touch on the fact that Reed is one of the best return men in the Big Ten as he brought yet another punt back for a touchdown on Saturday night before Michigan State’s offense even saw the field. He had Michigan State ahead and really set the tone for the shootout.

After that, it seemed like Thorne was making just about every throw and his completion rate should have been much higher if not for a few easy drops. He and Reed were on the same page all night long and it’s clear that their connection is strong than any other on the team.

Reed had four catches for 127 yards and a touchdown and Thorne completed 20-of-30 passes for 327 yards and that lone score.

These two continue to get stronger together.
