2. The offense has been explosive

Nebraska’s defense has been fairly solid this season but isn’t exactly setting the world on fire. The Cornhuskers are allowing just under 350 yards per game and just 15.8 points per game, but we have to remember they did face Fordham and Buffalo after Illinois which have helped those numbers a bit.

Michigan State might be the second-best offense the Cornhuskers have faced all year (behind Oklahoma from last weekend) and they’ve been wildly explosive all year.

Payton Thorne is playing as good as any quarterback in college football and he doesn’t crumble under pressure which is going to be bad news for the Nebraska defense. The offensive line has improved from last year, the receivers are some of the best in the Big Ten, and Kenneth Walker III is a home-run threat every time he touches the ball.

Will Nebraska be able to keep up with this new-look Michigan State offense? Well, the Cornhuskers gave up 30 points to a mediocre Illinois offense, so I like the Spartans’ chances.
