2. Kenneth Walker III is not human

I’m running out of adjectives to describe Kenneth Walker III. I did predict a 150-yard day for the talented running back but I had no idea he’d look so good in that effort.

Walker III finished the game with 27 rushes for 172 yards which was good for a 6.4 yards per carry average and he had a number of plays that looked like they’d be losses of yardage but he turned them into big plays. Even near the end of the game on a third down deep in Miami territory, he turned what looked to be a no-gainer into a 10-15 yard run and a first down by spinning out of tackles and breaking weak arm tackles.

He also added three receptions for 17 yards and a touchdown.

I don’t say this lightly, but Walker III looks like the best running back we’ve seen in East Lansing since Le’Veon Bell or Javon Ringer. But he honestly might be even better.

Watching him play is a breath of fresh air and it’s been a while since the Spartans have had a 1,000-yard rusher but if he stays healthy, Walker can crush that 1,000-yard plateau.
