1. Michigan State pulls off the upset

The uncertainty surrounding the Michigan State football program was at an all-time high prior to Week 1 of the 2021 season but the doubts and concerns quickly subsided with a Northwestern blowout.

How would the Spartans follow that performance up? Only by beating Youngstown State handily, pretty much having the game in hand after the first quarter, and just coasting in the second half. The game could have probably ended in a bigger blowout, but the starters got some rest and a potential long scoring drive by Anthony Russo, and the second-team ended in a fumble deep in the red zone.

Through two games, Michigan State has two comfortable wins and fans’ minds have been eased quite a bit. This is one of the hottest teams in college football while Miami is somewhat limping into this game as a struggling team.

Miami was blown out in the opener by Alabama and then escaped an upset against Appalachian State last weekend at home so a win here by Michigan State wouldn’t be that wild.

But Vegas has the Spartans as an underdog against the No. 24 Hurricanes and I’m going with the upset special here. Michigan State wins this one by a hair.
