Michigan State Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Miami in Week 3
2. Kenneth Walker III rushes for 150 yards
Following what had to be considered the top rushing performance in college football this season, Kenneth Walker III was relatively quiet against Youngstown State.
It’s not because he struggled, but rather he didn’t get the opportunities.
In fact, Walker carried the ball just seven times for 57 yards in what seemed to be an instance of Mel Tucker preserving his star back for a big showdown in Miami the following weekend. He averaged 8.1 yards per carry and was effective when he touched the ball, but he just didn’t get many chances to show what he’s capable of.
That’s going to change on Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium.
The Hurricanes only surrender about 137 rushing yards per game which isn’t too shabby when you consider they faced Alabama already, but Walker III is the best back they’ll have seen through three weeks — yes, that’s a bold statement. He’s going to carry the ball 15-20 times and rack up over 150 yards for the second time this season.
Consider Saturday’s trip to Miami the second episode of the Kenneth Walker III Show.
