Michigan State Football: 3 bold predictions vs. Youngstown State
1. Kenneth Walker III has two runs of 50-plus yards
This might be my boldest prediction of the season because Michigan State hasn’t exactly had explosive offensive plays for the past 3-4 years, but the opener against Northwestern proved that this season’s team may be a little different.
Plus, Kenneth Walker III is just built different.
The transfer running back was a beast in the opener, rushing for 264 yards and four touchdowns on 23 carries which sounds like something out of a video game. He was named Big Ten player of the week and set the bar incredibly high for himself.
I don’t think he rushes for 200 yards again, but I do see him breaking off a couple of 50-plus yard runs on Saturday afternoon as he’ll break the 100-yard mark with relative ease.
The Spartans won’t need him to touch the ball all that much on Saturday because this one should be well in hand by halftime, but he’ll still flash his explosiveness and vision in his first home game in the green and white.
