Last month, Katin Houser’s stock was boosted tenfold. The newest Michigan State football commit was invited to the Elite 11 camp and finished as one of the top 11 performers and that was good enough to earn him a bump in the Top247 on 247Sports.

This was enough to raise his composite ranking a bit, putting him right on that edge to become a four-star overall. He’s already a four-star on 247Sports and ESPN, but Rivals was the only site holding him back as a composite three-star.

That has since changed.

On Tuesday, Rivals updated its Rivals250 for the 2022 class and Houser was bumped all the way from three-star status to No. 105 overall.

Houser joined Alex VanSumeren as the only other Spartan commit in the Rivals250 as he came in at No. 176 overall, down one spot from before. Houser took one of the biggest leaps in the rankings, however, as he’s the second-highest ranked “new” addition to the Rivals250.

With this massive leap, Houser is also listed as the No. 8 pro-style quarterback in the class, one spot behind former MSU target and Missouri commit Sam Horn and two spots behind former priority AJ Duffy.

Although he doesn’t have a ton of tape for the recruiting experts to work with, his Elite 11 performance and just overall potential have him moving up in all the rankings.

Michigan State football’s class ranked No. 13 on Rivals

Mel Tucker continues to prove he has what it takes to recruit at a high level, getting the Spartans’ 2022 class all the way up to No. 13 on Rivals and after landing Jaden Mangham last week, they were No. 15 on 247Sports.

“If you can’t recruit at Michigan State, you probably can’t recruit.”

Tucker continues to back up his talk.
