Michigan State Football: Top 3 All-Big Ten candidates on defense for 2021
The 2020 Michigan State football defense didn’t live up to normal standards and you better believe guys like Scottie Hazelton, Mel Tucker, Harlon Barnett, and Ron Burton are working hard to change that.
The Spartans finished 100th nationally in scoring defense which was also last in the Big Ten, allowing about 35 points per game. Michigan State was 54th in total yards allowed, seventh in the conference, surrendering about 397 per game.
Long story short, things can’t get much worse in 2021.
Michigan State brings in a ton of talent via the portal as well as with the 2021 recruiting class and the defense should only improve this season. The talent levels are on the rise.
