Michigan State Football: Keon Coleman is going to be a problem
The Michigan State football season hasn’t even started yet and there’s a fan favorite from the 2021 recruiting class who could turn into a star early on for the Spartans.
Keon Coleman has everyone’s attention ahead of the season based on his athleticism and the fact that he’s a two-sport star who could also have an impact on Tom Izzo’s roster. He turned heads on a national level as a recruit this past year and has everyone expecting big things from him in East Lansing.
And it seems like he might be living up to his hype as a freak athlete thus far in East Lansing, at least his hard in the weight room in just two months has shined through.
Not many athletes can transform their bodies like this in just two months:

Coleman was obviously already in shape when he got to Michigan State, but he added muscle and toned up. He added eight pounds to his 6-foot-4 frame, getting up to 210 pounds. He was muscular before, but now he’s ripped and looks like mini Megatron.
This kid is going to be a problem for the Spartans for years.
How Coleman fits in MSU’s receiving corps
Heading into the season, Coleman will just be fighting for a spot on the two-deep, but there are some people who believe he’s going to live up to the hype and get meaningful snaps at receiver in 2021.
Coleman already has the size, speed, and athleticism to really break out as a true freshman, but he’ll have to sit behind Jalen Nailor, Jayden Reed, and Ricky White who are all projected starters. CJ Hayes, Christian Fitzpatrick, Tre Mosley, Terry Lockett, and Ian Stewart are all vying for time in backup roles, but Coleman could be a dark-horse here.
Even if Coleman doesn’t play a ton this season (but I think he should), he’s going to slide into a prominent role in 2022 and he has future No. 1 target written all over him.
We could be looking at the Spartans’ next Big Ten Receiver of the Year candidate.
