This is a newer name in terms of trends for Michigan State over the past few weeks and that’s because Jack Nickel took an official visit to East Lansing on June 4 and liked what he saw.

The Notre Dame decommit has been receiving some crystal balls for Michigan State over the past few days and that has fans excited about the idea of him and Michael Masunas teaming up at the position in a year. That would give Michigan State two legit tight ends who can block as well as run routes and catch passes at a high level. They’re both ‘Spartan Dawg’ material.

Jay Johnson values the tight end position arguably more than any other offensive coordinator Michigan State has had in decades which is why it’s so important to land Plan A guys here.

Nickel has to be considered a Plan A target because if Notre Dame once wanted you and you play tight end, you probably have elite potential. Plus his list of offers is impressive with LSU, Florida State, Iowa, Miami, Oregon, Penn State, and Wisconsin all acting as options for him.

Michigan State looks to be in really good shape here.
