Radio silence. That’s what’s been coming out of the Katin Houser camp following his official visit with Michigan State football this past weekend.

That has some Boise State experts on edge and anticipating a flip because he hasn’t come out and said he’s 100 percent with the Broncos since the trip to East Lansing.

The Boise State quarterback commit is one of the top remaining players on Michigan State’s board in the 2022 class and he has to be considered QB1 for the staff after Nicco Marchiol committed to West Virginia on June 21. The Spartans have made Houser a priority even before Marchiol committed elsewhere and there was a feeling that they liked him just as much.

But wrestling him away from Boise State isn’t going to be an easy task. The Broncos just hired Andy Avalos to replace Bryan Harsin and Houser likes the new staff a lot.

Fortunately, Jay Johnson and Mel Tucker were able to secure an official visit from him despite him cancelling other trips over the past couple of weeks that he previously scheduled. This shows that there’s plenty of mutual interest there and if he is going to flip, Michigan State will be the school.

The Bellflower, Calif., native is ranked the No. 16 quarterback in the country by 247Sports and received an invite to the Elite 11 finals after a solid regional showing.

Houser also holds offers from Iowa, Colorado, Washington, and Washington State, among others.

What are Michigan State football’s chances here?

Some Boise State experts feel like Michigan State’s full-court press was probably enough to sway him which makes me feel that the Spartans are in really good shape here.

Michigan State missed on Marchiol and that leaves Houser atop the list alone with guys like Justyn Martin and Luther Richesson lower down. If he felt like a priority from the minute he was on campus, that should obviously help matters and I think Tucker has done a really good job here.

So what are Michigan State’s chances here? I would say the Spartans are in a good position here and I would give him a 65-70 percent chance of flipping from Boise to Michigan State.

I would almost be surprised at this point if he doesn’t flip.
