Are you sensing a theme here? Mel Tucker could target quarterbacks from anywhere in the country, but he’s focused on California because of the rich talent pool.

Justyn Martin may be my favorite target left on the board for the Spartans and although he’s currently committed to Cal, the Spartans have remained in contact and they’re not ready to give up on this one. The Inglewood, Calif., native committed to Cal back in January, but Ole Miss and Michigan State have remained in contact and he has to be keeping his options open.

Martin is the No. 269 overall recruit in the class and 14th-best pro-style quarterback, according to the composite. According to 247Sports‘ rankings, he’s the 10th-best pro-style passer and No. 247 overall prospect.

The four-star quarterback might be the best athlete of the remaining quarterback targets for the Spartans and while he’s not listed as a dual-threat, he’s slippery in the pocket. He dodges pressure well and can throw bombs on the run. He’s accurate on his deep-balls and can also throw daggers 20-30 yards down the field.

Keep an eye on Martin as Michigan State ramps up the pressure.
