One name that has been on the minds of Spartan fans paying close attention to recruiting for a few weeks now is Jayden Denegal.

The Apple Valley, Calif., native is the only uncommitted quarterback on this list. The Spartans offered him back in February and he’s currently near the top of their board. He was always an option for Michigan State is AJ Duffy committed elsewhere.

And the Spartans are in good shape here.

Denegal is ranked the No. 264 overall prospect and, according to the composite, he’s the No. 13 pro-style quarterback in the class — Katin Houser was No. 13 according to 247Sports‘ ranking.

The four-star quarterback also has good size at 6-foot-4 and 215 pounds and he has a strong arm with great touch on his deep-balls. While he’s not the fleetest of foot, he has good pocket presence and can pick up yards with his legs, if need be.

Michigan State and Utah are probably his two favorites at the moment.
