It’s officially spring game weekend. Michigan State football will have a number of top 2022 recruiting targets on campus taking in the action and that means the Spartans must bring it.

Mel Tucker has brought the excitement back to the program after a few years of dormancy following a 10-win 2017 season. If he can get Michigan State back to its winning ways in 2021, you can bet that expectations will only rise.

There will be a select number of fans in attendance as well and here’s what everyone watching on TV and in person will want to see from the Spartans on Saturday afternoon.

3. Decent offensive line play

No, this isn’t the most intriguing thing to watch as a casual fan, but every member of the Spartan fanbase knows just how important a good offensive line is.

Chris Kapilovic admitted that last year’s line play just didn’t meet his standards and it was one of the toughest seasons he’s had as an offensive line coach. Things should improve this spring with important pieces coming back and getting healthy as well as the additions of Jarrett Horst through the transfer portal and Ethan Boyd in the 2021 class as an early enrollee.

Kevin Jarvis returns along with AJ Arcuri, Luke Campbell, Nick Samac, Matt Allen, JD Duplain, and Matt Carrick. There are also guys like James Ohonba, Jacob Isaia, Dallas Fincher, Blake Bueter, Justin Stevens, and Spencer Brown who should have impacts.

Will the offensive line show up on Saturday, protect the quarterback and open some decent running lanes for the talented backs?
