Michigan State Football: 3 position battles to watch during 2021 spring game

2. Cornerback

The cornerbacks currently on the roster, as opposed to the ones that will be here in the fall, are drastically different, but it’ll still be interesting to see who stands out at the position heading into the summer.

Right now, Michigan State has just a few guys who could realistically win a starting job like Kalon Gervin, Angelo Grose, and Division II transfer Kendell Brooks. It’ll be interesting to see if those guys can stand out on defense and look like the potential starters this fall.

Gervin and Grose are the early favorites to win the job, but with all the attrition this offseason, there’s a decent chance we could see someone like Brooks come in and compete for a starting job right away.

And there’s always guys like Torrell Williams, Justin White, and Spencer Rowland who could make some noise as under-the-radar depth pieces.

Will anyone look like true starters this spring and will the No Fly Zone show any hints of a return?
