If this name sounds familiar, that’s because it is. Michigan State recruited Cam’Ron Fletcher hard out of high school and the Spartans were a finalist for him before he picked Kentucky.

As a four-star recruit from Saint Louis, Mo., many believed Michigan State was second on his list of schools behind Kentucky. He picked the Wildcats over the Spartans which had many fans disappointed but Michigan State and Tom Izzo have another chance with him as he’s in the transfer portal following a quiet freshman season.

Kentucky is reportedly targeting Rocket Watts in the transfer portal and if Michigan State can make Fletcher a priority (I’m still doubtful this happens), that would be an interesting trade.

Michigan State desperately needs wings and Fletcher would fill that role immediately, complementing newcomers such as Pierre Brooks and Max Christie. Losing Aaron Henry, Josh Langford and Watts is going to hurt the depth on the wing and Fletcher would be a nice addition.

Although he didn’t do much as a freshman for Kentucky, averaging just 1.7 points and 1.7 rebounds per game, but he played just 6.6 minutes per game in nine appearances. He needed a change of scenery.
