Michigan State Basketball: 3 bold predictions for play-in game vs. UCLA
2. Rocket Watts scores in double figures
The secret is out, when Rocket Watts plays well, Michigan State is nearly impossible to beat.
In fact, the Spartans are unbeaten when he scores at least 10 points which has happened just seven times this season, surprisingly.
A 7-0 record when he scores at least 10 and 8-12 when he doesn’t is just proof that Watts is the straw that stirs the drink. If he’s off, there’s a good chance Michigan State won’t be winning. If he’s on, that gives the Spartans another scoring option outside of Joshua Langford and Aaron Henry and defenses have a tough time stopping them.
I’m going to guess Watts starts at the point and plays 20-25 minutes on Thursday night and scores 14 points with five assists and a steal. He’ll shoot at least 50 percent from the floor and really be a shot in the arm to the offense.
Defensively, he’ll also play very well which will translate to the other end.
Watts will have a good game and we all know what happens when that’s the case.
