What a shocker, right? Aaron Henry has been playing the best basketball of his career over the past seven, or so, games and he was just named the Big Ten Player of the Week.

Just look at these numbers during Michigan State’s hot streak:

Those would be Big Ten Player of the Year numbers had he been playing like this all season. He’s having one of the best stretches of his career and has put Michigan State on his back all the way to the NCAA Tournament.

Michigan State was dead in the water a couple of weeks ago and then Henry stepped up, took over as the leader of the team and led the Spartans to a 5-2 stretch and three wins over top-five teams.

Henry has been shooting the ball well, taking smart shots, playing great defense and making smart plays. He’s been doing a little of everything while going on spurts of scoring runs of his own (like he did to lead MSU past Indiana).

Michigan State goes as Henry goes and right now, that’s a good sign.
