Michigan State Basketball: Josh Langford had one of best games in Izzo era
The supporting cast did their jobs
It wasn’t just Joshua Langford taking over this game, either. We saw Rocket Watts play his best basketball all year, entering a similar form as we saw him in at the end of the 2019-20 season. He dropped 15 points, five assists and a steal. If he continues this, Michigan State may have found their third contributor that they’ve been looking for all year.
But like I just said, he was the third contributor. The first tonight was obviously Joshua Langford, but Aaron Henry had another stellar performance at the Breslin. It’s almost sad that I have to call him the second-best contributor, but that’s how well Langford played. Aaron Henry finished with possibly the most well-rounded game of any Spartan this year.
He finished Tuesday night with 20 points, five assists, six rebounds, two blocks and two steals, doing it on both sides of the court. Even though his performance will be overshadowed by Langford, he played his heart out and showed why he’s the best player on this team.
The rest of the team only complimented these guys, with Joey Hauser getting back into a groove, shooting 2-for-2 from 3-point range. We also saw Gabe Brown, Julius Marble and Marcus Bingham provide solid minutes when they were needed, cementing Michigan State basketball as the better team on Tuesday.
