Michigan State Basketball: 3 bold predictions for bout with No. 5 Illinois
2. Aaron Henry scores 30
If Michigan State is going to win, Aaron Henry is going to need to have one of the best games of his career. The Spartans go as Henry goes and that much has been clear this season.
Fresh off a 27-point performance in a huge win at Indiana, Henry has plenty of momentum. He’s playing the best basketball of his career right now and he’s making baskets from all over the floor. He even led the offense as the primary ball-handler, along with Joshua Langford, for most of the game against the Hoosiers and he only had one turnover.
Henry looks like a pro prospect and that’s exactly why he returned for his junior season. This is the perfect game for him to improve his stock on national TV against one of the top teams in the Big Ten. If he plays like he did at Indiana, he’ll turn some scouts’ heads.
I think he’ll do just that with 30 points on 12-of-22 shooting. He’s going to take the majority of the shots for MSU and a lot of his buckets will come from nifty slashes to the basket and mid-range jumpers. He’ll add a couple of big threes and free throws, but he’s going to take a lot of high-percentage shots.
Henry will lead all scorers with a career game.
