2. Aaron Henry played like a pro

When Aaron Henry announced he’d be testing the NBA draft waters last offseason, it was met with plenty of “what, why?” reactions from MSU fans. He just didn’t seem ready.

Truthfully, it was a good move for Henry to see what NBA scouts said he needed to work on and it only made him a better player. Did it make it seem like he was ready to be done with college? Sort of, but he has shown improvement in just about every aspect of his game this season.

And Saturday afternoon was the first time I realistically thought to myself, “Wow, Henry is ready.”

No, he might not be a first-round prospect or even really a second-round pick just yet, but he looked more pro-ready on Saturday in the winning effort than he has in his entire Spartan career. He played incredible defense, made tough shots and showed toughness in a comeback effort to lead Michigan State to a huge win.

When Michigan State needed a big bucket down the stretch, he was there.

Henry played like a pro and finished with 27 points, five rebounds, two assists, a steal and a block on 9-for-17 shooting. He was the leader MSU needed on the road.
