1. Michigan State pulls off the upset

Am I losing it? Has this season full of disappointments and mediocre play gotten to my head and melted my brain? Probably, but anyone who has watched Michigan State over the years knows one thing: you can never really count out a Tom Izzo-coached team.

And we’ve seen far less talented teams than this Spartan squad go on runs near the end of the year, picking up big wins over ranked teams and the theme will continue in 2020-21.

Michigan State followed up a four-game losing streak with a much-needed two-game stretch of games against Big Ten bottom-dwellers. Although the wins weren’t blowouts, they did give this team some confidence back and the Spartans led by double-digits in both and probably should have blown the doors off both Penn State and Nebraska but got complacent with big leads.

Getting up for a big game like this shouldn’t be difficult because a win for Michigan State could mean it flips from the wrong side of the bubble to ‘last four in’ territory.

Michigan State is going to play well against Iowa yet again, shutting down the 3-point line and putting Marcus Bingham Jr. on Luka Garza for most of the game, leading to a frustrating day early before getting hot late. This game will go down to the wire with a huge Joshua Langford 3-pointer sealing the deal, 77-74.
