Just recently, Corey Robinson and Justin Thind, now of 247Sports and formerly Rivals, put in crystal balls for Tay’shawn Trent to Michigan State. That’s a good sign because those two are seriously connected and usually get good intel from inside the program and with top targets.

Trent would be a major get for the Spartans as, like I said earlier, wide receiver is going to be a position of need for the 2022 class and he’s one of the best there is.

At 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, Trent would be that red-zone target that Michigan State will miss due to Tre’Von Morgan’s transfer. He has the height and the strong hands to be one of the better receivers on the roster the second he would step foot on campus and he’s still building a relationship with Mel Tucker. The more the two sides get to know each other, the better the Spartans’ chances are here.

Trent is currently ranked the No. 267 overall prospect and 36th-best receiver in the 2022 class, according to 247Sports‘ composite. He’s also Michigan’s No. 7-ranked recruit.

If Michigan State takes 3-4 receivers in this class like I think it could, Trent would have to be right up there as a top priority.
